This is one week yoga & meditation retreat which is a basic course. If you combine your retreat with basic learning of hatha yoga, then this is best choice. You go through methodology of yoga in concise form where you learn practical and theoretical learning. It clears your all doubts and helps in drifting you towards yoga and meditation.

The hatha yoga asanas are adjusted and aligned to suit the modern yoga practitioners. It will help them in the self-practice for health, peace and balance in mind & body. Alignment & adjustment in yoga are integral part of this concise course. It will be beneficial at personal and professional level.

Course Curriculum

The course is developed in such a way that you will learn basics of yoga & meditation course without compromising with your retreat itinerary. You will learn beginners level asanas, yogic breathing, meditation & ayurvedic massage. It will prepare you mentally & physically to go for advance level.

 

Course curriculum for yoga & meditation retreat:

  • Yagya ceremony: It is the traditional therapy of fire ceremony with chanting of mantras for purification of environment and your mind and body. It strengthens positive vibrations and makes atmosphere conducive for yoga and meditation learning.
  • Asana: It starts with stretching of body to improve flexibility & strength. The right sequence of mild asanas with correct timing & balance of body is integral part. Correct way of inhalation & exhalation while performing asanas to stir positive energy of body.
  • Pranayama: It starts with correct way of breathing from both nostrils (abdominal breathing). You will learn how to removing blockages in the lungs to ensure for the free flow of breathing energy.
  • Satkarma kriya: It is purification process in yogic way. It will remove all the blockages and expand your energy level. You will feel energetic and lively. It will remove all the negative vibrations in the body and filter your mental vibrations.
  • Ayurvedic therapy massage: It is best way to nourish your body and skin. It eliminates all the toxins from the body in conventional way. The traditional detoxification ways of ayurveda refreshes your mind, body & spirit.
  • Philosophy of yoga: The philosophy of yoga is taught to suit the modern practitioners. The concise form of yoga philosophy in articulate way to easily grasp the subject. The relevancy of yoga to modern lifestyle.

Meditation: It can be self-meditation or group meditation. The techniques of meditation are easy based on your breath and controlling of mind. Releasing stress from over-burdened mind, the simple meditative techniques will yield the positive outcomes.

Daily Regimen

Each day will start early in the morning with wake-up call at 5:30. The daily five hour practice is intended to elevate your level of energy and to sharpen your concentration needed for meditation.

Student Requirements

The Spirit Yoga Foundation has set standard rules & regulations to maintain decorum and dignity which all students are expected to follow strictly.

These requirements are as follows:

Program Requirements

  • Mental & physical fitness is mandatory for all students
  • Basic knowledge of English is desirable
  • Drugs/alcohols/cigarettes are prohibited
  • Regular attendance is enviable
  • Wear yoga dress in all yoga classes

Study Requirements

  • Strictly follow the designed syllabus
  • Follow the scheduled time
  • Must stay in center during course
  • Maintain a distance from teachers
  • Each students must have his/her own health insurance
  • Outing is not allowed during duration of the course
  • Contact manager if any query or demand

Meals

  • Only vegetarian food
  • No demand of extra food

Our center is in sylvan surroundings of nature on the outskirts of Rishikesh. It is far away from the hustle-bustle from the crowded town. The murmuring rivulet with glory of mountain and vast greenery make it an ideal place for practicing yoga & meditation. The fresh mountain breeze is soul-stirring and refreshes your mind and body.
